Citation 


  1. These Regulations may be cited as the Primary Industries Levies and
Charges Collection (National Residue Survey-Coarse Grains) Regulations.*1*

Commencement 


  2. These Regulations commence on 1 January 1994.

Incorporation 


  3. These Regulations are incorporated and must be read as one with the
Coarse Grains Levy Collection Regulations.

Interpretation 


  4. (1) In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

  "Coarse Grains Levy Collection Regulations" means the Primary Industries
Levies and Charges Collection (Coarse Grains) Regulations;

  "NRS Administration Act" means the National Residue Survey Administration
Act 1992;

  "NRS levy" means National Residue Survey Levy;

  "NRS Levy Act" means the National Residue Survey (Coarse Grains) Levy Act
1992;

  "value", in relation to leviable coarse grain, has the meaning it has in the
Coarse Grains Levy Act 1992.

NRS Levy 


  5. The NRS Levy Act is prescribed for the purposes of the definition of
"levy" in section 4 of the Collection Act.

What is the rate of NRS levy on oats, grain sorghum and barley? 


  6. For the purposes of paragraph 9 (2) (b) of the NRS Administration Act,
the rate of NRS levy payable on the grain harvested from oats, grain sorghum
and barley is 0.015% of the value of the grain.

When is NRS levy due for payment? 


  8. For the purposes of section 6 of the Collection Act, NRS levy imposed on
leviable coarse grain is due for payment:

  (a) on the day on which a quarterly return under regulation 12 of the Coarse
Grains Levy Collection Regulations is lodged for the coarse grain; or

  (b) if the quarterly return is not lodged within the period provided under
regulation 11 of the Coarse Grains Levy Collection Regulations- on the last
day of that period.

Additional information in returns 


  9. In addition to complying with the Coarse Grains Levy Collection
Regulations, a return lodged by a person under those Regulations must include
particulars of the total amount of NRS levy payable on the coarse grain to
which the return relates.

(NOTE:  For penalty, see section 24 of the Collection Act.)
