Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection (National Residue Survey - Cattle Transactions) Regulations.*1* SEE NOTES TO FIRST ARTICLE OF THIS CHAPTER .

Commencement
2. These Regulations commence on 1 July 1993.

Interpretation
3. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:
"Cattle Levy Collection Regulations" means the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection (Cattle and Live-stock) Regulations;
"NRS Administration Act" means the National Residue Survey Administration Act 1992;
"NRS Levy Act" means the National Residue Survey (Cattle Transactions) Levy Act 1992;
"NRS levy" means levy imposed on cattle by the NRS Levy Act and payable under section 9 of the NRS Administration Act.

NRS levy
4. The NRS Levy Act is prescribed for the purposes of the definition of "levy" in section 4 of the Collection Act.
(NOTE: See section 9 of the NRS Administration Act for the rate of levy payable on the cattle transactions referred to in regulation 6.)

When is NRS levy due for payment?
5. For the purposes of section 6 of the Collection Act, NRS levy payable on cattle is due for payment on the last day for lodging a return for the cattle under the Cattle Levy Collection Regulations.

Additional information in returns
6. In addition to complying with the Cattle Levy Collection Regulations, a person who lodges a return under those Regulations must include in the return the following particulars in relation to the cattle to which the return relates:
(a) the amount of NRS levy payable on transactions by virtue of which the ownership of the cattle was transferred;
(b) the amount of NRS levy payable on the delivery of the cattle to a processor;
(c) the amount of NRS levy payable on the slaughter of the cattle;
(d) the amount of NRS levy payable on the exportation of the cattle;
(e) the total amount of NRS levy payable on the cattle referred to in paragraphs (a), (b), (c), and (d).

What is the rate of NRS levy for cattle of which ownership is transferred?
7. For the purposes of paragraph 9 (2) (b) of the NRS Administration Act, the rate of NRS levy payable on a transaction by virtue of which the ownership of cattle is transferred is 26 cents per head.

What is the rate of NRS levy for cattle delivered to a processor?
8. For the purposes of paragraph 9 (2) (b) of the NRS Administration Act, the rate of NRS levy payable on the delivery of cattle to a processor is 26 cents per head.

9. For the purposes of paragraph 9 (2) (b) of the NRS Administration Act, the rate of NRS levy payable on the slaughter of cattle is 26 cents per head.

10. For the purposes of paragraph 9 (2) (b) of the NRS Administration Act, the rate of NRS levy payable on the exportation of cattle is 26 cents per head.
