This regulation may be cited as the Primary Industries Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 1999 . ˙ Commencement 2. Parts 2 and 3 commence on 1 November 1999. PART 2—AMENDMENT OF AGRICULTURAL STANDARDS REGULATION 1997 ˙ Regulation amended in pt 2 3. This part amends the Agricultural Standards Regulation 1997 . ˙ Amendment of pt 4 (Stock food) 4. Part 4, division 2, subdivision 4, heading, ‘ ruminant ’— omit, insert— ‘ mammalian ’. ˙ Amendment of s 41 (Application of sdiv 4) 5. Section 41, ‘ruminant’— omit, insert— ‘mammalian’.

Example of an animal of the family Suidae — Pig. Example of an animal of the family Macropodoidae — Kangaroo or wallaby. (c) tallow. “tissue” includes blood.’. PART 3—AMENDMENT OF STOCK REGULATION 1988 ˙ Regulation amended in pt 3 10. This part amends the Stock Regulation 1988 . ˙ Amendment of s 6 (Definitions) 11. Section 6, definition “ruminant material” — omit, insert— ‘ “mammalian material” see section 68A.’. ˙ Amendment of s 68A (Definitions for pt 9) 12. Section 68A, definitions “meal” and “ruminant material” — omit, insert—

s 13 6 s 13 Primary Industries Legislation Amendment No. 184, 1999 (No. 2) ‘ “mammalian material” means tissue of a mammal or meal made by rendering mammalian tissue, other than— (a) blood meal; or (b) meal made by rendering the tissue of an animal of the family Equidae , Suidae , or Macropodoidae ; or Example of an animal of the family Equidae — Horse, donkey or mule. Example of an animal of the family Suidae — Pig. Example of an animal of the family Macropodoidae — Kangaroo or wallaby. (c) tallow. “meal” means meat meal, meat and bone meal or other meal, other than blood meal, made by rendering material of animal origin. “tissue” includes blood.’. ˙ Amendment of s 75 (Feeding animal or contaminated matter to stock) 13.(1) Section 75(3)(c)— omit, insert— ‘(c) feed meal to stock other than a ruminant; or (d) feed meal that does not contain mammalian material to a ruminant. 1 ’. (2) Section 75(4), definition “animal matter” — insert— ‘(iv) blood meal.’. 1 However, the Agricultural Standards Regulation 1997 imposes labelling requirements for meal.

The schedule amends the regulations it mentions.
