Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Rodeo Permits) Regulations 2006
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1.Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to make further provision for the operation of rodeos and rodeo schools.
2.Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 42 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986.
3.Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulations 1997[1] are called the Principal Regulations.
4.Requirements for the operation of rodeos and rodeo schools
After regulation 10(5) of the Principal Regulations insert—
"(6)The holder of a permit must comply with any condition applying to the permit.
Note:It is an offence to operate a rodeo or a rodeo school in contravention of any provision of the Act or these Regulations: see section 17(b) of the Act.".
5.Permit to operate a rodeo
In Schedule 3 to the Principal Regulations, in Part B, after "in Part A." insert—
"A permit holder who operates a rodeo in contravention of a condition set out in Part A is guilty of an offence.".
6.Permit to operate a rodeo school
In Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations, in Part B, after "in Part A." insert—
"A permit holder who operates a rodeo school in contravention of a condition set out in Part A is guilty of an offence.".
