Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Amendment Regulations 2013

The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy with the advice of the Executive Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulations 2008 to prescribe a Code of Practice for the purposes of section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 42 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986.

3New regulation 105A inserted

After regulation 105 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulations 2008[1] insert

"105A   Defence to cruelty or aggravated cruelty

For the purposes of section 11(2) of the Act, the Australian Code of Practice is prescribed.".
