Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to amend references to a standard relating to the section 35 (the general regulation-making power), in particular section 35 (1) (a) (ii) (which provides for regulations to be made with respect to the conditions under which any animal or species of animal may be carried or conveyed).

(Livestock Transport Standards) Regulation 2013

Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Amendment
(Livestock Transport Standards) Regulation 2013.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulation 2012

(1) Clause 37A Exemption from section 8 (1) in respect of providing
animals with drink during transport

Omit “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Land Transport of Livestock)

Standards 2013 No 1” from clause 37A (3).

Insert instead “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Land Transport of

Livestock) Standards 2013 No 2”.

(2) Schedule 1 Animal trades and relevant Codes of Practice and
Standards
Omit “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Land Transport of Livestock)
Standards 2013 No 1” from Column 2.
Insert instead “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Land Transport of
Livestock) Standards 2013 No 2”.
