83—Proclamation

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Amendment Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 21st July 2000 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this proclamation is to commence the uncommenced provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Amendment Act 1997. Those provisions relate to the pinioning of birds, the use of electrical devices on animals, the provision of proper and sufficient food and drink to animals, steeplechasing and hurdle races and guidelines for the welfare of farm or companion animals.
