AN ACT to amend the Prevention of Cruelty to

Animals Act, 1920-1972.

[Assented to 21st October, 1976.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent 1-1 Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Prevention

of Cruelty to Animals Act Amendment Act, 1976.

(2) In this Act the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1920-1972 is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1920-1976.

Section 4

amended.

2. Section 4 of the principal Act is amended as to subsection (1) by adding a new paragraph (ba) after paragraph (b) as follows-

(ba) abandon or cause or permit the abandonment of any domestic animal by taking it or permitting it to be taken to a place other than that in which it is usually kept, there to fend for itself; or
