AN ACT to amend the Prevention of Cruelty to

Animals Act, 1920-1958.

[Assented to 15th October, 1970.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

and citation, 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Prevention

of Cruelty to Animals Act Amendment Act, 1970.

2. Subsection (1) of section 4 of the principal	Amendment
to s. 4. (Offences of

(a)	by substituting for the words "Fifty pounds", in line seventy-two, the words "Two hundred dollars"; and
(b)	by substituting for the words "five pounds", in lines seventy-three and seventy-four, the words "twenty dollars".

3. Section 8 of the principal Act is amended by tomstment

4. Section 13 of the principal Act is amended— recigment

by adding after subsection (4) a subsection as follows

(5) In this section "veterinary sur- geon" has the same meaning as registered veterinary surgeon has in section two of the Veterinary Surgeons Act, 1960. .

5. Section 14 of the principal Act is amended tomserenf

by adding after the word "constable", in the wgl,Tlisf

Amendment

to s. 17.	6. Section 17 of the principal Act is amended by in the last line, the words "One hundred dollars".

to s. 19.	7. Section 19 of the principal Act is amended by

to s. 22.	9. Section 22 of the principal Act is amended by

Amendment

to s. 22.	10. Section 23 of the principal Act is amended
(Slaughter-
ing of

decrepit	(a) by substituting for the words "For the purposes of section three which relates to offences of cruelty", in lines thirty-four and thirty-five, the words "In relation to offences against this Act"; and
