REGULATION

(Relating to the use of prescribed electrical devices)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (General) Regulation 1981 is amended by inserting at the end of Schedule 1, in Columns 1, 2 and 3 respectively, the following matter:

analgesia or anaesthesia.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to permit the use of a device known as an electroimmobiliser. for the purpose of restraining cattle during procedures not requiring analgesia or anaesthesia.

This Regulation is made under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979.

including sections 16 (3) and 35 (the general regulation-making power).
