R E G U L A T I O N S U N D E R T H E P O U N D S O R D I N A N C E 1928.
Pounds

PU R S U A N T to the powers conferred upon it by the

Ordinance 1928, the Eederal Capital Commission appointed under the Seat of Government

(Administration)

Act 1924-1928, hereby

makes the following Regulations to come into operation forthwith.

POUNDS REGULATIONS.

Short title. 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pounds Regulations.

In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears— " Lands Officer " means the Chief Lands Officer of the Commis-

sion;

" the City Area " means the City Area as defined in the City Area

Leases Ordinance 1924-1929;

" the Ordinance " means the Pounds Ordinance 1928,

and any reference to a form shall be deemed to be a reference to a form

in the Schedule to these Regulations.

Pound few. 3. The pound fees payable under the Ordinance shall be

accordance with, the following scale:—

Trespawby 10. Where any cattle of any one owner are found trespassing more moro than once than once in any period of a month, the driving charges, sustenance in one month, charges and trespass rates payable in respect of those cattle arising out of

any trespassing after the first, shall be double the driving charges, sustenance charges and trespass fees, respectively prescribed by regula- tions 4, 5 and 6 of these Eegulations.

11. The Commission shall supply to a poundkeepor and the pound- the immediate neighbourhood of the pound, a copy of the Ordinance and of these Regulations and any amendments thereof, and a copy of such portions of the Gazette published during the preceding six months as relate to the registration of brands or marks used in branding and marking cattle or to impoundings.

j 2 . ( l ) A poundkeeper, upon receiving into the pound any cattle brought there for impounding, shall require the person bringing the cattle to fill in and give to the poundkeeper a statement in accordance with Form 1, and that person shall do so accordingly.

(2) The poundkeeper shall compare the particulars contained in the statement with the cattle impounded, and, if necessary, require the statement to be corrected.

(3) The poundkeeper shall then give to the impounder a receipt for the cattle impounded in accordance with Form 2.

13. The pound book to be kept by the poundkeeper shall be in accordance with Form 3, and he shall enter therein at the time the particulars required of each impounding and of each dealing with impounded cattle, and such other particulars as are required.

14. 15. (1) A poundkeeper shall, at least once each day, sufficiently feed Provided that where feed or water cannot, by reason of drought or other cause, be obtained, the poundkeeper shall report the fact to the Lands Officer, and the Lands Officer may give such directions as he deems advisable in the circumstances.

(b) provide a pen or crush for taking the brands or descriptions

of cattle; and

(c) in every case of doubt as to the correct reading of a brand

or mark, clip or shave the brand or mark.

20. (1) A poundkeeper, upon receipt from the owner of any cattle of complaint of

28. Where an occupier detains cattle in pursuance of section 21 of Notice of
