To amend the Pounds Ordinance 1928-1937.
I THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Common- Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under , wealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal the Seat of Government {Administration) Act 1910-1955.

POUNDS ORDINANCE 1959.
1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Pounds Short title Ordinance 1959.* and citation.
(2 . ) The Pounds Ordinance 1928-1937f is in this Ordin- ance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.
(3 . ) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordin-
ance, may be cited as the Pounds Ordinance 1928-1959.
2. Section five of the Principal Ordinance is amended— Definitions. (a) by omitting from the definition of " Cattle " the words " and any ram, ewe, sheep, or lamb, and any " and inserting in their stead the words " and any sheep, pig,"; and

(c) by omitting uub-section (3.) and inserting in its I (b) by omitting the definition of " Tillage land ".
3. Section eleven of the Principal Ordinance is amended— Driving charges, u
(a) by omitting from sub-section (1.) the words e,e™,1«sd a " sustenance fees " and inserting in their stead r"td.strespass
the words " deterrent fees ";
(b) by inserting after sub-section (1.) the following
sub-section:—
" (1A. ) The sustenance fees payable in respect of any pound shall be such fees as are fixed by
the Minister from time to time.";

" (3.) Deterrent fees fixed in pursuance of this section shall be payable to the Common- wealth in respect of all impounded cattle in the pound."; and
(d) by omitting from sub-section (4.) the words "as the land trespassed on is or is not tillage land enclosed with a sufficient fence " and inserting in their stead the words " the type of land trespassed on .
4. Section fourteen of the Principal Ordinance is repealed
and the following section inserted in its stead:—
