AN ACT to suspend the operation of the Statutes of Limitations in relation to Debts postponed by procla- mation under the Postponement of Debts Act, 1914, or by regulations under the War Precautions Act, 1914-16.

this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority

of the same, as follows :—

1.    This Act may be cited as the Postponed Debts Act, Short title.

2.    (1.) The period during which the payment or any Suspension of

remedy for the recovery of any debt has been or shall be 2=1'11.

postponed or suspended under or by virtue of any pro-

clamation under the Postponement of Debts Act, 1914,

or any regulation made under the War Precautions Act,

1914-16, shall not be taken into account for the purpose

of applying any statute of limitations to such debt, and

the operation of every such statute shall, with respect to

such debt, be deemed to have been suspended during such

period.

(2.) Any proclamation purporting to have been made under the Postponement of Debts Act, 1914, shall, for the purposes of this Act, be deemed to have been validly made.
