STATUTORY RULES.
PROVISIONAL REGULATIONS UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH ACT 1901.
I,
THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that, on account of
urgency, the undermentioned amended Regulations under the
Postal Regulations.
Parcels Post.
Money Orders;
should come into immediate operation, and make the amended Regulations to come into operation forthwith as Provisional Regulations.

Postal Regulations.
Regulation 2 under this head (Statutory Rules 1908, No. 6) is amended by the insertion after the figures “10/12/07” of the following:—
And figures indicating the number of papers in the package to be transmitted.
Parcels Post.
Regulation 1 under this head (
1. Neither coin, bullion, gold, nor any article constituting the sign of a monetary value (such as cheques, postal notes, money orders, &c.) other than unobliterated adhesive postage or duty stamps, post cards, and blank promissory note forms bearing duty stamps may be sent by Parcels Post except to those countries with which the system of
Parcels Post Insurance is in force and to which the transmission of such articles is not specially prohibited; if a parcel containing any such prohibited article be posted in contravention of this Regulation it shall be sent to the Dead Letter Office for disposal.
Regulation 1 under this head (
The senders of the parcels limited to 3 lbs. in weight shall be required to pack those parcels in such a way as to permit of them being enclosed in mail bags.
Money Orders.
Regulation 17 under this head (Statutory Rules 1907, No. 57) is amended by omitting therefrom the portion in parentheses, viz. (or, if the Order was issued in the Commonwealth at the Chief Money Order Office in the State of issue or payment), and by adding the following to that Regulation at the end thereof, viz.:—
If the Order was issued in the Commonwealth, application can be made at the Chief Money Order Office in the State of issue or payment, but duplicates will only be issued from the Chief Money Order Office of the State of payment.
