PROVISIONAL REGULATIONS UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH ACT 1901–1910.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that, on account of urgency, the undermentioned amended Regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act 1901–1910, namely:—

Printed Papers;

General Postal regulations:

Payment of Postage by the Receiver

should come into immediate operation, and make the amended Regulations to come into operation forthwith as Provisional Regulations.

Postal Regulations.

Printed Papers,

Regulation 1 under this head (Statutory Rules 1912, No. 168) is amended by inserting after the word “catalogues” the words and signs “(except those wholly set up and printed in Australia)”

General Postal Regulations.

Payment of Postage by the Receiver,

The regulations under this head are amended by inserting after the regulation under the sub-head “Official Correspondence—State of Western Australia” (Statutory Rules 1911, No. 113) the following new regulation:—

Official Correspondence.—State of Tasmania.

Postal articles addressed to—

The Director of Education, Hobart, or

The Inspector of Schools, Launceston, or

The Inspector of Schools, Burnie,

and having indorsed thereon the words “Departmental Examination Papers only,” may be sent by post without prepayment of postage, but the postage thereon at prepaid rates shall be paid by the person to whom they are addressed upon their delivery to him.
