REGULATIONS UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH ACT 1901-1910

(Issued Provisionally as Statutory Rules 1913, No. 17)

 

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the undermentioned amended Regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act 1901-1910, namely:—

General Postal Regulations.

Prepayment in Cash, in One Sum; of Postage on Large Quantities of Mail Matter.

Telegraphic Regulations.

Telegrams within the CommonwealthMiscellaneous,

to come into operation on the seventeenth day of May, 1913.

General Postal Regulations.

Prepayment in Cash, in One Sum, of Postage on Large Quantities of Mail Matter.

The Regulation under this head (Gazette No. 26, of 5th June, 1902. page 244) is amended by inserting at the end thereof the following Regulation:—

“2. A person posting articles in large quantities as provided for in the foregoing Regulation may obtain a certificate of posting upon payment of a fee of one penny. The officer who issues the certificate must affix thereto a penny postage stamp, which he must cancel.”

Telegraphic Regulations.

Telegrams within the Commonwealth-Miscellaneous.

Regulation 2 under this head (Gazette No. 26, of 5th June, 1902, page 256) is amended by inserting at the end thereof the following words:—

“Provided, however, that the charges on telegrams lodged at offices where approved cash registers are used may be paid in cash.”
