Postal Services Amendment Act 1979

An Act to terminate the extension
of the Postal Services Act 1975 to the Territory of
Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
BE IT ENACTED
by the Queen, and the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth
of Australia, as follows:
Short
title, &c.
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Postal Services Amendment Act 1979.
(2) The Postal Services Act 1975 is in this Act referred to
as the Principal Act.
Commencement
2. This Act shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by
Proclamation.
Interpretation
3. Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from
sub-section (1) the definition of “prescribed external Territory” and
substituting the following definition:
“‘prescribed external Territory’
means an external Territory other than Norfolk Island, the Territory of
Christmas Island or the Territory of Cocos (Keeling)
Islands;”.
