STATUTORY RULES
REGULATIONS UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH ACT 1901-1971.*
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth
of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby
make the following Regulations under the

Amendments of the Postal Regulations
(2.) Regulations 2 to 5 (inclusive) of these Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of May, 1973.
“(2.) An applicant for the tenancy of a private box shall, before the tenancy commences, pay, for the use of the box for the period commencing on the day on which the tenancy is to commence and ending on the next following thirty-first day of March, so much of the annual fee for the use of the box as hears to that fee the same proportion as the number of whole months in the period commencing on the first day of the month in which the tenancy is to commence and ending on the next following thirty-first day of March bears to twelve.
“(3.) An applicant for the tenancy of a private box that is to commence in February or March in any year shall, before the tenancy commences, pay, in addition to the fee payable under the last preceding sub-regulation, the annual fee for the use of the box for the year commencing on the next following first day of April.
“(4.) A person who, on the first day of April in any year, is the tenant of a private box, not being a box the tenancy of which commences on that day or commenced during the two months immediately preceding that day, shall, not later than the fifteenth day of April in that year, pay the annual fee for the use of the box for the year commencing on that first day of April.”.

“(2.) An applicant for a private mail-bag service shall, before the service commences, pay, for the service for the period commencing on the day on which the service is to commence and ending on the next following thirty-first day of March, so much of the annual fee for the service as bears to that fee the same proportion as the number of whole months in the period commencing in the first day of the month in which the service is to commence and ending on the next following thirty-first day of March bears to twelve.
“(3.) A person who, on the first day of April in any year, is the holder of a private mail-bag service, not being a service that commences on that day, shall, not later than the thirtieth day of that month, pay the annual fee for the service for the year commencing on that first day of April.”.
“(2.) An applicant for a locked bag service shall, before the service commences, pay, for the service for the period commencing on the day on which the service is to commence and ending on the next following thirty-first day of March, so much of the annual fee for the service as bears to that fee the same proportion as the number of whole months in the period commencing on the first day of the month in which the service is to commence and ending on the next following thirty-first day of March bears to twelve.
“(3.) A person who on the first day of April in any year, is the holder of a locked bag service, not being a service that commences on that day, shall, not later than the fifteenth day of that month, pay the annual fee for the service for the year commencing on that first day of April.”.
(2.) A person who, on the first day of January, 1973, is the tenant of a private box the tenancy of which commenced during November, 1972, shall, not later than the fifteenth day of January, 1973, pay, for the use of the box for the period commencing on the first day of January, 1974, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1974, one-quarter of the annual fee for the use of the box.
(3.) A person who, on the first day of January, 1973, is the tenant of a private box, not being a box the tenancy of which commences on that day or commenced during the two months immediately preceding that day, shall, not later than the fifteenth day of January, 1973, in addition to the fee for the use of the box during the year commencing on the first day of January, 1973, payable under sub-regulation (2.) of regulation 131 of the Postal Regulations, pay, for the use of the box for the period commencing on the first day of January, 1974, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1974, one-quarter of the annual fee for the use of the box.
(2.) A person who, on the first day of January, 1973, is the holder of a private mail-bag service, not being a service that commences on that day, shall, not later than the thirty-first day of January, 1973, in addition to the fee for the service during the year commenting on the first day of January, 1973, payable under sub-regulation (2.) of regulation 143 of the Postal Regulations, pay, for the service for the period commencing on the first day of January, 1974, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1974, one-quarter of the annual fee for the service.
(2.) A person who, on the first day of January, 1973, is the holder of a locked bag service, not being a service that commences on that day, shall, not later than the fifteenth day of January, 1973, in addition to the fee for the service during the year commencing on the first day of January, 1973, payable under sub-regulation (2.) of regulation 145 of the Postal Regulations, pay, for the service for the period commencing on the first day of January, 1974, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1974, one-quarter of the annual fee for the service.
