REGULATIONS
UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH
ACT 1901-1950.*
I, THE
GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth Australia, acting with the advice
of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under
the Post
and Telegraph Act 1901-1950.

Amendments of the Postal Regulations.
Prohibited
articles.
1.
Regulation 54 of the Postal Regulations is amended by omitting the words
"(other than an air-graph letter)".
Prepayment of
postage in cash.
2.
Regulation 59 of the Postal Regulations is amended by omitting from
sub-regulation (1.) the words "for transmission within the Commonwealth,
or to the United Kingdom, New Zealand, or Fiji, and on large quantities of
printed matter for transmission to any place beyond the Commonwealth".
Repurchase of
stamps on cards issued to broadcast listeners.
3. Regulation
117 of the Postal Regulations is amended by omitting the words "Australian
Broadcasting Act 1942 " and inserting in their stead
the words "Broadcasting Act 1942-1954".
Refund on
relinquishment of private box.
4. Regulation
137 of the Postal Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.)
the words "(less one shilling)".
Refund on
relinquishment of private mail-bag service.
5. Regulation
148 of the Postal Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.)
the words "(less one shilling)".

6. Regulation
258 of the Postal Regulations is amended by omitting the table and inserting in
its stead the following table:—

7. Regulation
260 of the Postal Regulations is repealed.
