REGULATIONS UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH ACT 1901-1961 AND THE WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY ACT 1905-1950.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act 1901-1961 and the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1905-1950.

Amendments of the Postal and Telegraphic Services (General) regulations 

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on the fourteenth day of February, 1966.

Loitering in Post Offices.

2. Regulation 4 of the Postal and Telegraphic Services (General) Regulations is amended by omitting the symbol and figure “ £5 ” and inserting in their stead the words “ Ten dollars ”.

Production of documents.

3. Regulation 5 of the Postal and Telegraphic Services (General) Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “ One guinea ” and inserting in their stead the words “ Two dollars and ten cents ”.

Business outside normal hours.

4. Regulation 8 of the Postal and Telegraphic Services (General) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (1.) and paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “ One shilling and sixpence ” and inserting in their stead the words “ Fifteen cents ”;

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (2a.) the words “ One pound ten shillings ” (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the words “ Three dollars ”; and

(c) by omitting from sub-paragraph (ii) of paragraph (d) of sub-regulation (3.) the words “ One shilling and sixpence ” and inserting in their stead the words “ Fifteen cents ”.

Interference with property of Postmaster-General.

5. Regulation 8a of the Postal and Telegraphic Services (General) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (6.) the words “ Ten shillings ” and “ Ten pounds ” and inserting in their stead the words “ One dollar ” and “ Twenty dollars ”, respectively.
