BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate,

Australia, as follows:—

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Post and Telegraph Rates

Short title

and citation.

No. 94.

Post and Telegraph Rates (Defence Forces) (No. 2).

(2.) Section one of the Post and Telegraph Rates (Defence Forces)

Act 1940 is amended by omitting sub-section (3.).

(3.) The Postal Rates (Defence Forces) Act 1939,* as amended by the Post and Telegraph Rates (Defence Forces) Act 1 9 4 0, † is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(4.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Post and Telegraph Rates (Defence Forces) Act 1939-1940.

Commencement.

2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

Definitions.

3. Section four of the Principal Act is amended by adding at the end thereof the following definition:—

" ' r ep resen ta t ive of an organization' means a representative, a t any camp, barracks, garrison, training school or other place a t which members of the Forces are serving or in training, appointed by any organization which has been authorized by the Minister of State for Defence Co-ordination to provide philanthropic, welfare or medical services for members of the Forces.".

4. Sections five and five A of the Principal Act are amended by
