An
Act to amend the Post and Telegraph Act 1901–1912
and the Post and Telegraph Rates Act 1902–1911.
[Assented to 19th December, 1913.]
BE it enacted by the King’s Most
Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the
Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short title and citation.
1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Post and
Telegraph Act 1913.
(2.) The Post
and Telegraph Act 1901–1912, as amended by this Act, may be
cited as the Post and Telegraph Act 1901–1913.
(3.) The Post
and Telegraph Rates Act 1902–1911, as amended by this Act, may be
cited as the Post and Telegraph Rates Act 1902–1913.
Amendment
of s. 97 of Post and Telegraph Act 1901–1912
2. Section
ninety-seven of the Post and Telegraph Act 1901–1912 is amended by inserting after paragraph (m) the following paragraph:—
“(ma)Prescribing the conditions of
receipt, transmission, and delivery of letter telegrams.”
Letter
telegrams.
3. The Second Schedule
to the Post and Telegraph Rates Act 1902–1911 is
amended by adding, after Part II., the following Part:—
“Part III.—Letter Telegrams, as Prescribed.
Including
address and signature—
Not exceeding 40 words.............................. | One shilling. |
Each additional word.................................. | One halfpenny.” |
