"O E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, XJ by and vitb the advice and consent of the Legis lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 . This Act may be cited as the “ Port Kembla (No. 6 stiorttitle.
Jetty) Act, 1953.’’
2 . (1) (a) The carrying out of the work described in work

authorised work within the meaning of the Public Works
Act, 1912, as amended by subsequent Acts.
(c) The Minister for Public Works is em powered to carry out the said work, and shall be the constructing authority for the same within the meaning of the said Act, as so amended, and shall enter into such contracts and take all such necessary steps for the proper execution thereof as such authority may think proper.
(d) The provisions of the Public Works Act, 1912, as amended by subsequent Acts, sections thirty- four, thirty-five, thirty-six and thirty-seven excepted, shall apply to and in respect of the said work.
(2) Without prejudice to the generality of subsec tion one of this section the provisions of section thirty- eight of the Public Works Act, 1912, as amended by sub sequent Acts, shall apply to and in respect of any contracts referred to in paragraph (c) of subsection one of this section.

S C H ED U LE.
Tl'.e construction and equipment of a new jetty at P o r t Kembla, located between tlie Xorthorn Breakwater and the existing No. 1 Je tty , for tlie improvement and expansion of wharfage, berthage and loading facilities.
The jetty is to be approximately 1,000 feet in length and 100 feet in width, and of timber and concrete (,'onstruction. I t will be equipped with railway and crane tracks and (ravelling cranes, and provision will be made for the installation of oil pipelines. Electric light and power and water sui>ply will be provided.
The work will include the construction of railway sidings, road way approach and portworkers’ amenities, and is subject to such modifications as mav bo considered desirable by the Minister.
