No. 44 An Act to Amend "The Pollution of WatersbyOil Act of 1960," in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 13TH DECEMBER, 1961] B E it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lativeAssembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title 1. (1) This Act may be cited as "The PollutionofWatersby Oil Act Amendment Act of 1961." Principal (2) " The Pollution of Waters by Oil Act of 1960 " is Act in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. Collective (3) The Principal Act and this Act may be title collectively cited as " The Pollu,tion of Waters by Oil Acts, 1960 to 1961."

1961 Pollution of Waters by Oil, Etc., Act. 183 2. Subsection one of section four of " The Pollution Amendment of Waters by Oil Act of 1960 "is amended by adding at the of s. 4 (I) end thereof the following paragraphs :- " The operation of section twenty-three of " The Criminal Gode " is excluded in respect of the offences created by this subsection. Subject to the provisions of subsection two of this section it shall be immaterial that the discharge occurred without the authority or contrary to the instructions of the owner, master, occupier or person in charge, as the case may be, who is charged with an offence created by this subsection."
