I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Police Service (Complaints, Discipline and Appeals) Amendment Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1993 as the day on which that Act (other than Schedule 3 (6) and (7) and section 3 in its application to those items, and the amendment made by Schedule 4 to the Police Service (Volunteer Police) Amendment Act 1992 and section 4 in its application to that amendment) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to appoint I July 1993 as the commencement date of all the provisions of the Police Service (Complaints. Discipline and Appeals) Amendment Act 1993, other than the provisions relating to the proposed volunteer police. (The Police Service (Volunteer Police) Amendment Act 1992— which provides for the undertaking, on a trial basis, o f certain aspects of police work by community volunteers—has not yet commenced.)
