Police Service Amendment (NSW

Police) Act 2002—Proclamation

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Police Service Amendment (NSW Police) Act 2002, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 12 July 2002 as the day on which that Act commences except for the following:

(a) Schedule 1 [8],

(b) Schedule 1 [12],

(c)

Schedule 2.1,

(d)

Schedule 2.2.

Explanatory note

The object of this proclamation is to commence the Police Service Amendment (NSW Police) Act 2002 except for certain provisions (that make amendments to the Police Service Act 1990, the Associations Incorporation Act 1984 and the Business Names Act 1962) relating to the use of the word “police” in operating names under which any activity is carried out, and a provision consequential on the Compensation Court Repeal Act 2002 which has not yet commenced.
