NEW SOUTH WALES

[Published in Gazette No. 36 of 13 March 1992]

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Police Service Act 1990, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

TED PICKERING

Minister for Police and Emergency Services.

The Police Service Regulation 1990 is amended by omitting from
clause 30 (1) (b) the words “has reasonable grounds to believe” and by

inserting instead the words “sincerely believes”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of this Regulation is to amend the Police Service Regulation 1990 to provide that, if a police officer sincerley believes that another police officer has engaged in misconduct, the officer is required to report the conduct to a senior police officer. Such a reporting officer is protected from victimisation. The reference to the sincere belief of the reporting officer replaces the current reference
