POLICE SERVICE ACT 1990—REGULATION

(Relating to provision of police services for the 1991 Tooheys 1000

Car Race)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Police Service Act 1990, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Police Service Regulation 1990 is amended by inserting after

clause 115 the following clause:

Charges payable for attendance at 1991 Tooheys 1000 Car Race

116. (1) The Commissioner is entitled to demand payment from the Australian Racing Drivers’ Club Limited of an amount calculated in accordance with this clause for the attendance of police officers at the 1991 Tooheys 1000 Car Race for the purposes of maintaining order, crowd control and supervision.

(2) The amount payable under this clause is to be calculated at the rate of $27 per hour for each police officer who is in attendance for those purposes and $11 per hour for each police vehicle that is required for those purposes.

(3) The amount payable under this clause is prescribed under section

107 (2) and. (3) of the Act.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of this Regulation is to prescribe certain services for which the Commissioner of Police is entitled to make charges under section 107 of the Police Service Act 1990.
