Police Service Act 1990

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Police Service Act 1990.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to bring the Police Service Regulation 1990 into line with ranks and grades as they currently exist in the Police Service by providing for the rank of superintendent, and the grades of chief superintendent and superintendent within that rank.

This Regulation is made under the Police Service Act 1990, including section 12 (3) (ranks and grades of police officers and section 219 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Police Service Amendment (Ranks and
Grades) Regulation 1998.

2 Amendment of Police Service Regulation 1990

The Police Service Regulation 1990 is amended as set out in
Schedule 1.

3 Notes

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Schedule 1 Amendments

(Clause 2)

[1]        Clause 6 Grades within ranks of police officers

Insert “superintendent,” after “ranks of” in clause 6 (1).

[2]        Clause 6 (1)

Insert the following matter before the matter relating to inspectors:

Superintendents (in descending order)

chief superintendent

superintendent
