Act No. 5, 1973.

An Act to increase the superannuation allowances payable to certain retired members of the Police Force and certain widows and other persons; for this and other purposes to amend the Police Regulation (Superannuation) Act, 1906, and the Police Association Employees (Superannuation) Act, 1969; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 21st March, 1973.]

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the “Police Regulation

(Superannuation) Amendment Act, 1973’’.

2. (1) Subject to subsections (2) and (3), this Act

7th January, 1972.

(3) Section 4 shall be deemed to have commenced on

1st April, 1972.

Amendment

3. The Police Regulation (Superannuation) Act, 1906,

is amended—

Sec-7.

(a) by inserting at the end of section 7 the following

subsection

(6) Where an amount equal to the sum of—

(a)

the amount of the superannuation allowance that, but for this subsection, would be payable under this section and section 7a to a member of the Police Force who retired on or before 18th December, 1969, reduced by the amount of any increase under section 7a included therein; and

(b)

a percentage of the reduced amount referred to in paragraph (a), being a percentage equal to that specified in the Second Column of the Table to this subsection opposite the period
