POLICE REGULATION (SUPER­

ANNUATION) AMENDMENT ACT.

BE it enacted by the K i n g ' s Most Excellent Majesty, lative Council and Legislat ive Assembly of New South

by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­

Wales in P a r l i a m e n t assembled, and by the au thor i ty of
the same, as follows :—

2. The Police R e g u l a t i o n (Superannua t ion) Ac t ,
1906, is amended by omi t t i ng section th i r t een and by
in se r t ing in l ieu thereof t he following new section :—
served for a period of less t h a n t en years of service t he g r a tu i t y shal l not exceed an a m o u n t equa l to one m o n t h ' s pay for each year of service. (b)
13 . (1) W h e n any such m e m b e r has died u n d e r
c i rcumstances other t h a n those men t ioned in t h e

las t -preceding section, the re m a y be paid a g ra tu i ty not in any case exceeding a sum equa l to s ixty m o n t h s ' pay of t he m e m b e r a t t he ra te of his salary a t t he da te of his dea th .

(2) (a) W h e r e t he deceased m e m b e r has

(b) Where the deceased member lias served for a period of more than ten years of service the gratuity shall not exceed an amount equal to fen months' pay plus two months' pay for each year of service after the tenth year of service.

(3) The gratuity shall be payable in

accordance with the direction of the (Jovernor to the widow, mother, or to or on behalf of the children of the member.
