Police Regulation (Amendment) 1985

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows;

Short title

1.     This Act may be cited as the “Police Regulation (Amendment) Act

1985”.

Amendment of Act No. 20, 1899

2. The Police Regulation Act 1899 is amended in the manner set forth

in Schedule 1.

SCHEDULE 1

(Sec. 2)

AMENDMENTS TO THE POLICE REGULATION ACT 1899

(1) Section 4a (Appointment and authority of Deputy Commissioners)—

(a) Section 4a (3) (b)—

Omit “and”.

(b) Section 4a (3) (c), (d)—

At the end of section 4a (3) (c), insert:

; and

(d)

may, with the approval of the Governor given on the recommendation of the Minister, retire from office upon or after attaining the age of 55 years and before attaining the age of 60 years.

(2) Section 4b (Appointment of Assistant Commissioners)—

(a) Section 4b (3) (b)—

Omit “and”.

(b) Section 4b (3) (c), (d)—

At the end of section 4b (3) (c), insert:
