payment of the money value of extended leave in respect of members of the Police Force; for this purpose to amend the Police Regulation Act, 1899, and the Police Regulation (Superannuation) Act, 1906, as amended by subsequent A cts; and for purposes connected therewith. T>E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, -D by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

Short title

1 . (1) This Act may lie cited as the “ Police Regula-

Police Regulation Act, 1899-1957.

shall he i>aid forthwith in lien of suok leave the money \-alue thereo'f as a gratuity in addition to any gratuity to which he may be otherwise entitled.

(2) A member of the police force who has ac<iuired a right to extended leave with pay and Avhose retirement therefrom is ou account of—

(a)

incapacity in accordance with section eight of the Police Regulation (Super­ annuation) Act, 190h, as amended by subsequent Acts; or

( b )

Radioactive Substances Act.

(b)

disablement in respect of which a gratuity or annual superannuation allowance may be granted to him in accordance with section ten of the said Act, as so amended,

shall be paid forthwith in lieu of such leave the money value thereof as a gratuity in addition to any gratuity to which he may be otherwise entitled. Any annual superannuation allowance which may be granted to any such member under the Police Regulation (Superannuation) Act, 1906, as amended by subsequent Acts, shall commence from the date following that upon which all leave of absence (whether annual leave, extended leave or any other form of leave whatsoever), if taken, would have terminated.
