lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South
Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of
the same, as follows :—

Regulation Act, 1899-1939.
Amendment
| of Act No. 20, | 2 . The Police Regulation Act, 1899-1935, is amended |

| cases. | Commissioner shall, if directed by the Governor so to do, re-appoint a constable of police who has been dismissed by or with the authority (including con firmation) of the Governor. |
| No re-appointment shall be made under this sub section after the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine. | |
| (2) Every constable so re-appointed shall be paid in respect of the period between the date of his dismissal and the date of his re-appointment, such compensation, if any, as the Governor may direct. | |
| (3) The Governor may, if he sees fit so to do, direct that the period between the date of dismissal of a constable and the date of his re-appointment under this section be counted as service for the pur poses of the Police Regulation (Superannuation) Act, 1906, as amended by subsequent Acts, subject to and on condition of the payment by the constable when demanded by the Minister of an amount equivalent to the deductions which, if he had not been dismissed, would have been made under section twenty-eight of this Act from his pay or salary during such period. | |

| (5) The seniority in the police force which every constable so re-appointed shall, by and from his re-appointment acquire, shall be as determined by the Commissioner subject to the direction of the Minister: Provided that no member of the police force who has been promoted since the date of dismissal of the constable so re-appointed shall be affected in his position or seniority by the re appointment. | |
| (6) Section nine of this Act sliall apply to and in respect of every person re-appointed under this section. |
