s1 2 s7 Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment No. 270, 2002 Regulation (No. 4) 2002 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment Regulation (No. 4) 2002 . 2 Commencement This regulation commences on 28 October 2002. 3 Regulation amended This regulation amends the PolicePowersandResponsibilitiesRegulation 2000. 4 Amendment of s 5 (Content of approved form) Section 5(i), ‘a year’— omit, insert— ‘2 years’. 5 Amendment of sch 1 (Relevant laws) Schedule 1, ‘ Hawkers Act 1984’— omit. 6 Amendment of sch 2 (Acts for which name and address may be required) Schedule 2, ‘ Hawkers Act 1984’— omit. 7 Amendment of sch 8A (Notified areas) (1) Schedule 8A, section 4(1)(x), ‘Point Curtis’— omit, insert— ‘Port Curtis’. s7 3 s7 Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment No. 270, 2002 Regulation (No. 4) 2002 insert— 6.(1) The area in the vicinity of the Fitzroy River, Rockhampton within the following boundary— (a) the west bank of the Fitzroy River, from the point where the south side of the Alexandra Bridge crosses the west bank of the river, to the point closest to the north-west corner of the intersection of Stanley Street and Quay Street; (b) a direct line to the east side of Quay Street at the point closest to the north-west corner of the intersection of Stanley Street and Quay Street; (c) the east side of Quay Street and Victoria Parade to the point closest to the south side of the railway line near North Street; (d) a direct line to the south side of the railway line near North Street; (e) the south side of the railway line to the start of the Alexandra Bridge; (f) the south side of the Alexandra Bridge to the point where the area’s boundary starts. (2) Expiry day for this section—27 October 2003. 7.(1) The following areas in the vicinity of the Rockhampton central business district— (a) Fitzroy Street between Alma Street and Quay Street; (b) Denham Street between Denison Street and Quay Street; (c) William Street between Alma Street and Quay Street; (d) Market Lane; (e) Derby Street between Alma Street and Bolsover Street; (f) Denison Street between Denham Street and William Street; (g) Alma Street between Fitzroy Street and Derby Street; (h) Bolsover Lane between Fitzroy Street and William Street; (i) Bolsover Street between Fitzroy Street and Derby Street;

(2) Expiry day for this section—27 October 2003. 8.(1) The area, including Central Park, Rockhampton, enclosed by the vehicular carriageway of George Street, Gladstone Road, Murray Street and Denham Street. (2) Expiry day for this section—27 October 2004. 9.(1) The area, including Bencke Park, Rockhampton, enclosed by the vehicular carriageway of Bridge Street, Toft Street and Ashney Street. (2) Expiry day for this section—27 October 2004. 10.(1) The area in the vicinity of Kershaw Gardens, Rockhampton within the following boundary— (a) the east side of Moores Creek Road, from the south corner of the intersection of High Street and Moores Creek Road, to the point closest to the north side of Dowling Street; (b) a direct line to the north side of Dowling Street; (c) the north side of Dowling Street to the east corner of the intersection of Dowling Street and Fraser Street; (d) a direct line to the closest point on the west bank of Moores Creek; (e) the west bank of Moores Creek to the point where the south side of High Street crosses the west bank of Moores Creek;

(2) Expiry day for this section—27 October 2004. 11.(1) The area in the vicinity of the Esplanade, Cairns within the following boundary, other than the area of the police establishment known as the Esplanade Police Beat— (a) the south side of Marlin Parade, from the south-east corner of the intersection of Marlin Parade and the Esplanade, to the south corner of the property boundary of lot 13 on SP 132560; (b) the south-west property boundary of lot 13 on SP 132560 to the property boundary of lot 14 on SP 122864; (c) the boundary of lot 14 on SP 122864 in a north-east direction to the junction between lot 13 on SP 132560, lot 14 on SP 122864 and the shoreline of Trinity Bay; (d) the shoreline of Trinity Bay to the point closest to the Merchant Seafarer’s Monument near Charles Street; (e) a direct line to the Merchant Seafarer’s Monument near Charles Street; (f) the path from the Merchant Seafarer’s Monument to the Esplanade; (g) the south-west side of the Esplanade and Abbott Street to the south corner of the intersection of Abbott Street and Upward Street; (h) the south-east side of Upward Street to the Esplanade; (i) the south-west side of the Esplanade to the south corner of the intersection between the Esplanade and Spence Street; (j) the south-east side of Spence Street to Abbott Street; (k) the north-east side of Abbott Street to the driveway between Abbott Street and the Reef Hotel Casino building; (l) the driveway to the side of the Reef Hotel Casino building; (m) the sides of the Reef Hotel Casino facing Spence Street, from the driveway in Abbott Street, to the junction between the garden
s7 6 s7 Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment No. 270, 2002 Regulation (No. 4) 2002 areas and the paved areas on the side of the Reef Hotel Casino near the Esplanade; (n) the junction of the garden areas and the paved areas to the Esplanade; (o) the south-west side of the Esplanade to the point closest to the south-east corner of the intersection of the Esplanade and Marlin Parade; (p) a direct line to the south-east corner of the intersection of the Esplanade and Marlin Parade. (2) Expiry day for this section—27 October 2004. 12.(1) The Cairns City Library, Abbott Street, Cairns and the area in the vicinity of the Cairns City Library within the following boundary— (a) the south-west side of Aplin Street, from the south corner of the intersection of Aplin Street and Abbott Street, to Lake Street; (b) the north-east side of Lake Street to the junction between lot 26 on C 1981 and lot 27 on C 1981; (c) the south-east and north-east property boundary of lot 27 on C 1981 to lot 7 on C 1981; (d) the south-east property boundary of lot 7 on C 1981 to Abbott Street; (e) the south-west side of Abbott Street to Aplin Street.
