s1 2 s5 Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment No. 133, 2001 Regulation (No. 2) 2001 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 2001 . 2 Regulation amended This regulation amends the PolicePowersandResponsibilitiesRegulation 2000. 3 Amendment of s 4 (Applying for notified area declaration) (1) Section 4(1)(c), ‘1 year’— omit, insert — ‘2 years’. (2) Section 4(2)(b), ‘1 year’— omit, insert — ‘2 years’. 4 Renumbering of s 8A (Declaration of notified areas—Act, s 41) Section 8A— renumber as section 8B. 5 Insertion of new s 8A After section 8— insert — ‘8A Extension of period for which an area is a notified area ‘ (1) This section applies to an application for an extension of the period for which an area is a notified area because of an extended declaration. ‘ (2) The applicant for the relevant extended declaration from time to time may apply to the Minister for an extension of the period for which the extended declaration is in force. ‘ (3) The application must—

s6 3 s6 Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment No. 133, 2001 Regulation (No. 2) 2001 (a) state reasons for seeking the extension of the period; and (b) state the period, of not more than 2 years, for which the extension is sought; and (c) be made at least 2 months before the declaration expires. ‘ (4) Sections 4 and 7 do not apply to an application under this section.’. 6 Amendment of sch 8A (Notified areas) (1) Schedule 8A, ‘section 8A’— omit, insert — ‘section 8B’. (2) Schedule 8A, section 1(2), ‘10 August 2001’— omit, insert — ‘10 August 2002’. (3) Schedule 8A, section 2(3), ‘31 May 2002’— omit, insert — ‘31 May 2003’. ENDNOTES 1.
