s1 2 s5 Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2001 No. 53, 2001 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2001. 2 Commencement This regulation commences on 1 June 2001. 3 Regulation amended This regulation amends the PolicePowersandResponsibilitiesRegulation 2000. 4 Replacement of s 8A (Declaration of notified areas—Act, s 41) Section 8A— omit, insert — ‘8A Declaration of notified areas—Act, s 41 ‘ (1) Each area described in schedule 8A is a notified area for the Act. ‘ (2) At midnight on the expiry day stated in a section of schedule 8A— (a) the section expires; and (b) each area stated in the section stops being a notified area for the Act.’. 5 Replacement of sch 8A (Notified areas) Schedule 8A— omit, insert —
s5 3 s5 Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2001 No. 53, 2001 ‘SCHEDULE 8A ‘NOTIFIED AREAS section 8A 1.(1) The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise between Clifford Street and Higman Street. (2) Expiry day for this section—10 August 2001. 2.(1) The area in the vicinity of The Strand, Townsville within the following boundaries, starting from the shoreline of Cleveland Bay at the point closest to the most north-west point of the path around the rock pool at Kissing Point— (a) in a direct line to the most north-west point of the path around the rock pool at Kissing Point; (b) along the path around the rock pool at Kissing Point in a southerly direction to the junction between the path and the car park on lot 1 on RP 722951; (c) along the perimeter of the car park on lot 1 on RP 722951 following the directions of north-west, south-west and then south-east; (d) along the south-west side of the intersection of The Strand and Howitt Street, and then The Strand, to the north-east corner of lot 40 on T 1186; (e) along the south-east property boundaries of lot 40 on T 1186, lot 2 on RP 712275 and lot 1 on RP 712275; (f) along the north-east side of Mitchell Street to the south-west corner of the property boundary of lot 1 on RP 715286; (g) along the north-west property boundaries of lot 1 on RP 715286, lot 2 on RP 715286 and lot CP on SP 109483; (h) along the south-west side of The Strand to the point opposite the south-east corner of the main building in the Tobruk Pool complex;
s5 4 s5 Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2001 No. 53, 2001 (i) in a direct line to the south-east corner of the main building in the Tobruk Pool complex; (j) along the south-west side of the Tobruk Pool complex; (k) along the north-west side of the Tobruk Pool complex to the point nearest the stormwater drain next to the Tobruk pool complex; (l) in a direct line to the closest point of the stormwater drain; (m) along the south-east side of the stormwater drain to the beach; (n) in a direct line to the closest point on the shoreline; (o) north-west along the shoreline to the point where the area’s boundary starts. (2) The area of the jetty built from lot 2 on SP 123479. (3) Expiry day for this section—31 May 2002.’. ENDNOTES 1. Made by the Governor in Council on 24 May 2001. 2.
