s1 4 Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment The Parliament of Queensland enacts— s3 No. 2, 1999 ˙ Short title 1. This Act may be cited as th e Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment Act 1999 . ˙ Act amended 2. This Act amends th e Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 1997 . ˙ Amendment of s 35 (Arrest without warrant) 3. Section 35— insert— ‘ (4) Despite subsection (3), but subject to th J e uvenile Justice Act 1992 , section 20, 1 a police officer may— (a) arrest a child under a provision of another Act authorising the arrest of a person without warrant; or (b) if the police officer reasonably suspects a child has committed or is committing an offence against section 120 or th T e raffic Act 1949 —arrest the child, without warrant.’. © State of Queensland 1999 1 Section 20 (Arrest and ex officio indictment power preserved)
