AN ACT to amend " The Police Ordinance,

1861."

[ Assented to, 6th August, 1880.1

HEREAS it is expedient to extend the powers of Justices

WBe it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australiawith reference to the punishment for disorderly conduct:

and its Dependencies; by and with the advice and consent of the

Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1 WHENEVER any man belonging to the Police Force shall

apprehend, without warrant, any person whom he shall find dis-

orderly, as provided by the 12th section of the said Ordinance,'the Justice before whom such person shall be conveyed may impose on such person or any person charged with and convicted of disorderly conduct in a street, public thoroughfare, or public place in the

Colony, or in any passenger boat or vehicle at any hour of the day or night, either a fine not exceeding Ten pounds, or such fine with or without imprisonment, with or without hard labor, for any term not exceeding six calendar months.
