An Act to amend the Police Offences Act, 1901, consequentially upon the enactment of the Summary Offences (Repeal) Act, 1979. [Assented to, 11th May, 1979.1

Police Offences {Summary Offences) Amendment.

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1 .      This Act may be cited as the “Police Offences (Summary Short title.

Offences) Amendment Act, 1979”.

2 .      The Police Offences Act, 1901, is amended in the manner Amendment

set forth in Schedule 1. 190 *̂̂ °’

S C H E D U L E 1. Sec. 2.

A m endm ents to the P olice O ffences Ac t , 1901.

(1) Section 42 (1) —

Omit the subsection, insert instead :—

(1) The provisions of this Part apply only to such towns in the Western Division of New South Wales, as from time to time established undpr the Crown Lands Consolidation Act, 1913, as are not within an area within the meaning of the Local Government Act, 1919, and are towns to which this Part extended immediately before the commencement of the Police Offences (Summary Offences) Amendment Act, 1979, or is thereafter extended in accordance with the provisions of this Part.
