An Act to amend the Police Offences Act 1935 to repeal the offence of begging

Be it enacted by Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Police Offences Amendment (Begging Repeal) Act 2024. 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Police Offences Act 1935 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4The amendment effected by this section has been incorporated into the authorised version of the Police Offences Act 1935. 5Repeal of ActThis Act is repealed on the three hundred and sixty fifth day from the day on which this Act commenced.
