Police Offences Amendment Act 2001

An Act to amend the Police Offences Act 1935

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Police Offences Amendment Act 2001 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Police Offences Act 1935 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 5 repealed Section 5 of the Principal Act is repealed. 5Section 8 amended (Begging, imposition, prostitution, &c.) Section 8(1) of the Principal Act is amended by omitting paragraphs (d) , (g) and (i) . 6Section 9 repealed Section 9 of the Principal Act is repealed. 7Section 10 amended (Disorderly houses) Section 10(1) of the Principal Act is amended by omitting paragraphs (c) and (d) . 8Section 11 repealed Section 11 of the Principal Act is repealed. 9Section 13 amended (Public annoyance) Section 13 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting subsections (5) and (5AA) . 10Section 15 amended (Obstructions in streets, writing on or defacing buildings, &c., throwing, &c., rubbish on street, &c.) Section 15 of the Principal Act is amended as follows: (a) by omitting paragraph (a) from subsection (1) ; (b) by omitting paragraph (c) from subsection (1) ; (c) by omitting subsections (2) , (3) , (4) , (5) and (6) ; (d) by omitting from subsection (7) "or (2) or who contravenes subsection (6) "; (e) by omitting paragraph (b) from subsection (7) . 11Section 15A amended (Police offences in towns) Section 15A(1) of the Principal Act is amended by omitting paragraphs (a) and (b) . 12Sections 15B and 15C repealed Sections 15B and 15C of the Principal Act are repealed. 13Sections 17B and 18 repealed Sections 17B and 18 of the Principal Act are repealed. 14Part VI, Division II repealed Division II of Part VI of the Principal Act is repealed. 15Part VI, Division IV repealed Division IV of Part VI of the Principal Act is repealed. 16Schedule II amended (Tanner's Licence) Schedule II to the Principal Act is amended by omitting Form VIII .
