Police Offences Amendment Act 1998

An Act to amend the Police Offences Act 1935

[Royal Assent 22 May 1998]

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Police Offences Amendment Act 1998 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Police Offences Act 1935 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 37B amended (Motor vehicle stealing) Section 37B of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after subsection (2) the following subsection: (3)  A complaint made for the purposes of the Justices Act 1959 in relation to an offence under this section is to be made within 12 months after the date of the offence.
