An Ordinance to amend the Police Offences Ordinance 1930
Short title
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Police Offences (Amendment)
Ordinance 1983:
Principal Ordinance

public, whether on payment of money or otherwise;".
Interpretation
3. Section 5 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—
(a) by omitting the definitions of "Boat", "Licensed premises" and "Misdemeanour"; (b) by omitting "woman or women" from paragraph (b) of the definition of "Brothel" and substituting "person or persons"; and (c) by omitting the definition of "Public place" and "place of public resort" and substituting the following definition: " 'Public place' or 'place of public resort' means any street, road, public park within the meaning of the Public Parks Ordinance 1928, or reserve or any building, premises or other place which the public are entitled to use or which is open to, or used by, the

Prostitution and gaming offences
4. Section 23 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—
(a) by omitting paragraphs (1) (a) to (i), inclusive; (b) by omitting from paragraph (1) (ja) "being a male person,"; (c) by omitting paragraphs (1) (n) to (r), inclusive; (d)
by omitting from sub-section (1) "shall be deemed a rogue and vagabond within the meaning of this Ordinance, and"; and
(e) by omitting sub-section (2).
Regulation of places of public resort
5. Section 34 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting paragraph
(a).
Repeals
6. (1) Parts II and IV of the Principal Ordinance are repealed.
(2) Each provision of the Principal Ordinance specified in the Schedule is
repealed.
