POLICE OFFENCES.

No. 1 of 1961.

A n Ordinance to amend the Police Offences Ordinance

1930-1959.

Short title

and citation. 1,—(i.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Police Offences Ordinance 1961.*
(2.) The Police Offences Ordinance 1930-1959f is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.
(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordi- nance, may be cited as the Police Offences Ordinance 1930-1961.
2. Section four of the Principal Ordinance is repealed and the following section inserted in its stead:—
Parts. " 4. This Ordinance is divided into Parts, as follows:—
Part I.—Preliminary (Sections 1-5).

Part II.—Offences in Relation to Stock (Sections

6-9).

Part III.—Offences Generally (Sections 10-37).

Part IV.—Offences in Specified Localities (Sections

38-56).

Part VI.—Miscellaneous (Sections 72-89).".

Definitions.

3. Section five of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting after the definition of " Court" the following definition:—

" ' Licensed premises' has the same meaning as in the

Liquor Ordinance 1929-1959;".

4. After section eleven of the Principal Ordinance the following section is inserted:—

Noise in

" 11A. A person shall not, in a public place or in licensed noise as might reasonably, in the circumstances, cause substan- tial annoyance to another person, whether that other person is in the public place or licensed premises or elsewhere.
