AN ORDINANCE

I To amend the Police Offences Ordinance 1930-1937.
BE it ordained by the Governor-General in and over the Executive Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the Commonwealth of Australia, with the advice of the Federal Seat of Government Acceptance Act 1909-1938 and the Seat of
^Government (Administration) Act 1910-1933, as follows:—
1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Police Offences sn (j

Ordinance 1939.

(2.) The Police Offences Ordinance 1930-1937, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited as the Police Offences Ordinance 1930-1939.

2. After section thirty-five of the Police Offences Ordinance

1930-1937 the following section is inserted:—

" 3 5 A . — (1.) All machines, commonly known as fruit machines, prohibition

poker machines or flag machines ~and all similar machines are Sfc.'macwnw.
unlawful machines and are forfeited to the King.

(2.) Any person who has in his possession or custody, or under his control, any unlawful machine, or who suffers or permits any Unlawful machine to be kept, or used, or to be in operation, on premises of which he is the owner, occupier, manager or licensee, or of which he is in charge, shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: Fifty pounds.".
