POLICE LEGISLATION FURTHER AMENDMENT ACT 1996—

PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) G. SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels, AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Police Legislation Further Amendment Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)

16 December 1996 as the day on which sections 1-4 of that Act, and Schedule 1 [60] to that Act, commence, and

(b)

1 January 1997 as the day on which the remaining provisions of that Act commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of thls proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Police Legislation Further Amendment Act 1996 relating to the summary removal of police officers from the Police Service by the Commissioner on 16 December 1996. The remaining provisions of the Act are to commence on 1 January 1997.
