POLICE LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1996—

PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) G. SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Police Legislation Amendment Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1996 as the day on which that Act commences, except for the following provisions:

(a) section 4,
(b) Schedule 1 [1]–[6] and [8]–[13],
(c) Schedule 2,
(d) Schedule 6.1, 6.3, 6.5 and 6.7.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence most of the amendments made by the Police Legislation Amendment Act 1996 (the main exception being the amendments to the Police Service Act 1990 that replace Part 8A of that Act with a new Part dealing with complaints about police officers).
