AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Police Ordinance 1927

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

POLICE (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1981

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Police (Amendment)

Ordinance 1981.*

2. In this Ordinance, " Principal Ordinance" means the Police

Ordinance 1927.

3 . Section 4 of the Principal Ordinance is repealed and the following

" 4. In this Ordinance—

' Commissioner ' or ' Commissioner of Police ' means the Com­

missioner of Police of the Australian Federal Police;

' Police Force ' means the Australian Federal Police.".

4. Sections 5 to 12 (inclusive) of the Principal Ordinance are

repealed.

5. Section 13 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting

sub-section ( 1 ) .

6. Section 25 of the Principal Ordinance is repealed.

7. Sections 26A and 27 of the Principal Ordinance are repealed.

8. The Schedule to the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting

" Chief ".
