No. 13, ( b) Th e following subsection is inserted after subsection two thereof, namely : - " ( 2A. ) ( i. ) Subject to paragraph (iii. ) of this subsection, the office of Commissioner shall be, and it is hereby declared always was on and after the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty- eight, classified with a minimum salary at the rate of one thousand five hundred pounds per annum and a maximum salary at the rate of one thousand seven hundred and fifty pounds per annum. s*h"a T ll( h ib e i. e), P Ta o n l h i de ce iCt A omi c s t m s · hie A srse m ibo e ny n e d rd m eic e nl n a t roef A dfi c cae t lw o a f tay1ts9h4we8aps ( a, N sos o inn . ga2n) od"f after the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty- eight, to be paid the prescribed ma ximum salary, and every succeeding Commissioner shall be granted annual increments of fifty pounds between the prescribed minimum salary and the prescribed maximum salary, but so that in no case shall the Commissioner be paid a salary at an annual rate in excess of the prescribed maximum annual rate or less than the prescribed minimum annual rate. In this paragraph references to " prescribed minimum salary " or to " prescribed maximum salary " or to " prescribed minimum annual rate " or to " prescribed maximum annual rate " shall be read as referring to those matters and each of them as prescribed under paragraph ( i. ) of this subsection and, if adjusted under paragraph ( iii. ) of this subsection, as so adjusted for the time being.
